Hear them falling, falling, like a whisper of the dead,
Like memory's voices calling, paving the path we tread
With crimson hues and golden, like a mosaic olden.
~Cora L. V. Scott Richmond
I enjoy writing with background music, provided there are no lyrics (I can’t read a recipe while listening to someone singing!)
However, music often evokes deeper emotions, so that’s a bonus when composing an essay or post.
Here’s a smooth jazz instrumental selection that provides relaxing background vibes for your next writing session.

Music soothes me when I'm paying bills or doing something repetitive.
I’ve never tried writing to music. I think I prefer silence but I have heard many “actual serious authors” listen to soundtracks to create their novels. Very occasionally when editing I’ve played one of those classical “concentration” mixes and it was nice to have a bit of ambiance. I think the jazz selection you’ve shared is lovely and may make nice background music. 🤔 Thanks for sharing your ideas. 🫶🏻
