Greetings Readers,
I planned to follow up on last week’s Our Emotional Brains post with a primer on how hormones affect our moods. We’re all familiar with the happiness (and havoc) they can cause. Because I’m focusing on positive thinking, I wanted to cover the feel-good (and feel-crappy) types. However, speaking of feeling crappy…
…the tickle in my throat last Wednesday turned worse on Thursday and had me down for the next four days. I ran a fever and developed a VERY sore throat. My Mom used to say it felt like she’d swallowed a cigar box. Mine felt more like razor blades.
The pain and fever are gone today, but I’m left with congestion in my nose and an annoying cough. Needless to say, I didn't write. I couldn’t read either because my eyes burned and watered. So, I’m rescheduling the post on brain hormones for next week (provided some other germ doesn’t take me out!).
However, my hearing wasn’t affected, and I began listening to my newest audiobook:
While this book targets the threat to our democracy here in the States, disinformation endangers everyone.
Attack From Within offers an urgent, comprehensive explanation of how disinformation impacts democracy and the practical solutions that can be pursued to strengthen the public, media, and truth-based politics. ~Amazon
I highly recommend the book, as well as the excellent podcast #SistersInLaw, which includes Barb McQuade, Jill Wine-Banks, Kimberly Atkins-Stohr, and
. The podcast and Joyce’s Substack break down the legalese behind Trump’s multiple and ever-confusing indictments into something a layperson can understand. Well, sort of. Lots to learn from these amazing lady lawyers! Thanks for reading Life Matters…I hope you’ll join me next week!
Ouchie! Hope you feel much better soon!
I agree, the book is a good one - well worth reading.
