HATE ticks. We have them here - and they adhere to any living thing. Our poor pup picked up one in the sags at the beach and it was identified as the paralysis tick, so we had to rave to the emergency animal hospital so that he could be treated and monitored for 24 hours.
Now we buy an incredibly expensive product to drop between his shoulder-blades and it prevents ticks and fleas for 6 months.
Maybe we need to drop it between our shoulderblades as well.
Oh, my, I’m glad your boy received the prompt treatment he needed! I, too, invest in flea & tick protection for my INDOOR ONLY cat. I also scheduled flea & tick applications for my yard over the next few months (while the grands and the rest of the family enjoy what’s left of summer and the fall.) I hate the chemicals, but I hate what long-term illnesses those little buggers can carry even more).
I’m careful to check myself now after being outside. I’m also considering treating my clothes before going out…more chemicals! 😩
Ticks are a real nuisance. I'm glad you were able to get an antibiotic prescription right away. Good for you. I've heard so many stories of bad outcomes from untreated tick bites.

I know. But what do you do? We and our pets need safety.
My brother has been bitten (sucked) by leeches many times from being in the bushland and he gets serious infections!
