If all goes well, I’ll be paddling around in the alcove on the left of the gazebo this coming Tuesday. My daughter, sister, and I planned the trip last year, hoping for rest and relaxation before the holiday hustle and bustle. I was also aware that it followed on the heels of a historic election.
We have avoided politics: TV, our usual podcasts, and Internet content. This is the first time I’m not taking my laptop. We want to continue our time off the grid in this tropical paradise.
Like many others disappointed by the election results, we’re exhausted but fortunate enough to have a five-day ‘escape.’ In addition, I was sick for the entire month of October and am finally feeling better!
We’re not world travelers; we saved up for this getaway, and getting away is the best thing we can do right now.
I hope you’re all well and wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving. Life Matters will be back the week of December 2.
Take care!
Here is some Bob Marley for your listening pleasure!
