Reading this was like going to a therapy session and the lighbulb turning on. This was likely why I had a lot of issues. My parents were military strict and overprotective. Late in life my mother apologized. It wasn't too late of course, but wow, there were issues I may have avoided and gone down a completely different path in doing so. Great article.

Always glad to hear when someone gains insight from the articles and/or essays I post. That’s the whole point. The better we understand and accept ourselves the more peace and happiness we’ll find in this crazy world.

It's what I love about your newsletter. You share interesting topics without coming from 'a teacher's perspective' - you help me work out my own issues, and give me pause to stop and think about things from another perspective. Think of all th money you're saving me in paying for therapy!

I wish had seen the Robert Brault quote when my children were adolescents. I think I would have had a better perspective on mutual "stubborness."
