Thanks for sharing, Janice. I also enjoy spring with longer daylight and warmer temps! All the seasons have their own unique beauty. Even winter, which is my least favorite. I live in the northeast and the sun is absent during much of the winter. I tolerate the cold less now that I'm getting older.

This brought back so many memories. Thank you for that.

My husband and I still take the last outdoor bike ride of the season visiting many of the highlights of our summer cycling. The weather is supposed to turn colder this weekend which is Canadian Thanksgiving so we’ve scheduled the ride for Thanksgiving Monday. That last ride is always bittersweet.

What a lovely post.

It reminds me that I can't pick a favourite season. I love spring for the garden beauty, the sense that all the hope of winter is realised in budding leaf and blossom. I love summer for the luscious fresh food and fruit and the way we swim every day and children enjoy the freedom of long days and short nights. I am incredibly fond of autumn for its jewel colours and relief from heat, for all the harvesting and preserving for a year long pantry. And as you say, for its stillness.

And I love winter for the cold, for the massive long walks we do, the picnics and weekends away because winter is the only time when we have time.

All in all, I'm pretty content with every day that nature offers. (Unless it offers wind!!!)

I like spring - new beginnings with flowers and leaves turning green again, and warmer weather. I lived in the Midwest where winters were bleak -I had to wear boots, it was cold - maybe that has something to do with it.
